What You Will Need
Families are encouraged to rent or purchase instruments for their students. If finances make this a difficulty, our school has an inventory of instruments which can be checked out to students. Students are not required to take instruments home; however, in the case that a student should choose to, he or she may check out an instrument after school for one (1) night only, so that we have all instruments back in class the next day. Students who own their own instruments are expected to bring them to school to play, and will be assigned a safe space to keep their instruments.
Students will need a few supplies in order to make sure they are ready for band. Just as paper and pencils are important for your core classes, the following is a list of supplies that are important for everyone as we begin this school year. Students will be responsible for acquiring their own supplies. Students who cannot supply their own materials must discuss their needs with Mrs. Pentzer before they need them.

Commonly Asked Questions...
Q: What if I don't have any reeds to play during band? (saxophones/clarinets)
A: Having reeds is as important as having your instrument; you cannot participate without them. If you come to class without reeds, you will be given a writing assignment to be done in class.
Q: What if my instrument won't play or is broken?
A: You should bring it immediately to your teacher who may be able to fix it. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIX IT YOURSELF! THIS INCLUDES MOMS, DADS, FRIENDS AND RELATIVES! Any instrument that cannot be fixed by Mrs. Pentzer will be sent to Flesher-Hinton Music for repair.
